May 26 : Painting Roomscapes (Gouache Workshop)

In this class you will learn how to paint your very own living space. This is one of my first subject to paint with Gouache and although painting objects such as chairs, cabinets etc is intimidating, in this class, we will not be painting photo realistic spaces but we will be painting quirky, weird and add your own uniqueness to bring out your style & personality. Apart from that, you'll learn the characteristic of this unique medium and the similarities it shares with watercolor. You'll also learn the basics such as how to mix gouache to create a unique palette, apply painting techniques and learn how to sketch lightly. At the end of the class, you will apply the techniques learnt to paint your very own roomscape that you can frame as home decor or gift them to your loved ones.

Farah Bidin is a self-taught artist, educator and founder of Paintstobrushes who live in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. She started her creative journey on calligraphy. Her inspiration hugely inspired by nature and botanicals and the fact that watercolour allows her to capture the freshness of the blooms still blows her mind.
